The game is targeted at the audience of motivated professional volleyball players who want to increase their level of play and practice “reading the game” right from their phones or tablets. VolleySim is aimed at visualizing specific decision-making aspects of the game to create an environment that ensures the accuracy of players’ insights on a most likely course of action. During the gameplay, users learn to anticipate and remember the flow and tendencies of the game and leverage this skill at the right place and time. VolleySim offers zealous athletes both an opportunity to give their bodies a rest and think out the game strategies. There is also a possibility of competition between friends in social networks where users are free to publish their scores.
Handling a series of patches to increase the quality of the initial source code initially implemented by the client’s previous development firm, zGames first of all delivered a refactored code. As the project unfolded, our team worked on several major enhancements to release a smoothly functioning game that features a clear upgraded UI, in-app purchases option, achievements system, game center, and leaderboard. The second iteration spanned development of training module and localization. Powered with Unity, the game architecture allows rebuilding for devices running on a range of platforms.
